Design team to be appointed for new Athenry Gaelscoil campus

Work on delivering a new Gaelscoil campus for Athenry is progressing, with approval given for a design team to be appointed for the project.

Galway East TD Seán Canney says that the Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board have been given the go ahead to proceed with designing the new campus.

When completed, this development will bring together the existing Gaelscoil National and Secondary schools in Athenry together in a single campus.

The two existing Gaelscoileanna in Athenry are Gaelscoil Riada (primary), and Coláiste an Eachréidh (secondary).

“The progress with this project is welcomed and I wish both schools well in their journey to realise their dream for a modern facility for students, parents, staff and Board of Management,” Seán Canney said.
