Drivers cautioned over status yellow fog warning

A Status Yellow fog warning issued by Met Eireann last night is in place in Galway and all of Ireland this morning.

The weather warning cautions that dense fog in many areas could create dangerous driving conditions.

It was issued by Met Eireann at 10pm last night, and came into effect at 9am this morning.

The weather warning will remain in place until midday today, and conditions are expected to clear in the afternoon.

Despite this the weather will remain cloudy and misty throughout the day, with light drizzle in places.

Temperatures in Galway will range from 6°c to 8°c today, with light variable winds throughout the day.
