Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information after a woman was the victim of a serious assault in Galway City over the weekend.
A woman was seriously assaulted on the night of Saturday August 7, between 11:45pm and 12:15am on Sunday morning.
The assault occurred in the vicinity of Woodquay and the Headford Road.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who in this area during that time period, and who may have information for them, to come forward.
In addition Gardaí in Galway are anxious to speak to anyone who might have video footage, including dash cam footage in this location covering this half hour period.
Anyone with information or who can assist Gardaí with their enquiries are asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.
Gardaí say that the investigation into the assault is ongoing.
