Gardaí seized €70,000 worth of suspected cannabis during the search of a house in Galway City over the weekend.
Shortly after 4pm on Saturday, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house in the Doughiska area.
During the course of the search, they found suspected cannabis with a value of €70,000, subject to analysis.
No arrests were made during the search, and Gardaí say that investigations are ongoing.
This search was part of Operation Tara, targeting drug dealing in towns and villages across the country, which launched at the start of the month.
The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels – international, national, local – involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
