Gardai investigating assault on elderly man in Eyre Square

Gardai are investigating after an edlerly man was the victim of an alleged assault in Eyre Square over the weekend.

The man, believed to be in his 70s, received minor injuries during  the assault, which took place at approximately 1pm on Saturday.

Gardaí say they are following a definite line of inquiry but are appealing for information from the public.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything, or may have information such as video footage is asked to get in contact.
