Gardaí are investigating after two cars were set on fire during the night while sitting outside a house in Galway City last week.

Galway Gardaí are investigating two separate criminal damage incidents which took place on the night of Thursday, October 21.

In the first incident at approximately 11.30 pm a white Audi A6 saloon along with a white Hyundai i30 hatchback were set alight while parked outside a house at Garran Ard, Doughiska, Galway.

A vehicle described as “an old style silver Ford Focus” was observed acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident.

Just a very short while later, before midnight, another car was attacked outside a property in Ballybane.

A silver Renault Clio was extensively damaged while parked at a house in Gort Cam, Ballybane. A number of windows in the house were also during the same incident.

Gardaí in Galway are appealing to anyone who may witnesses either of these incidents or anyone with any information to make contact.
