Twelve people in Galway hospitals now with Covid-19

Twelve people who are currently in Galway hospitals have tested positive for Covid-19, but none of them are in ICU, according to the latest data

The newest figures show that there are ten people with the disease at University Hospital Galway and two Covid-19 patients at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

In UHG, there also seven suspected cases of Covid-19, while there is one additional suspected case in Portiuncula.

On Sunday, there were just two people in hospital with Covid-19 in Galway.

The data also shows that UHG now has nine general beds available and three ICU beds – and there are no confirmed or suspected Covid patients in critical care at the hospital, as of yesterday evening.

The Republic of Ireland recorded its highest number of cases since the start of the pandemic yesterday, as well as five deaths related to the disease.
