All four of the new COVID-19 cases at University Hospital Galway have been fully vaccinated, new HSE data shows.

As of yesterday evening, there is a total of seven people with the virus at UHG, with one of the confirmed cases receiving care in ICU.

There are five more suspected cases at the hospital awaiting test results as of yesterday evening.

Nationally, there were eight fully vaccinated people hospitalised yesterday – accounting for 44.4% of new COVID cases in Irish hospitals.

Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe still has two confirmed cases, with neither in ICU as of 8pm yesterday.

Six general beds are available at UHG, while Portiuncula Hospital has no available general beds.
