The number of patients hospitalised with COVID-19 in Galway has remained steady after increasing significantly last week.

There are now 19 confirmed cases receiving treatment at University Hospital Galway and four at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, as of 8pm yesterday evening.

Three of the COVID patients at UHG are receiving treatment in the ICU while one of the confirmed cases at Portiuncula Hospital is in the critical care unit.

Nationally, the number of patients hospitalised with COVID fell to 383 at 8pm on Monday.

The Mater Hospital in Dublin has the most COVID patients in ICU in Ireland with 11.
