The number of people with COVID-19 at University Hospital Galway remains higher than any other hospital in the Republic.

The hospital also has the highest number of people in ICU who have tested positive for the virus.

As of yesterday evening at 8pm, there are 19 confirmed cases at UHG, with five of those receiving care in ICU.

There are a further four patients who are suspected of having the virus but are awaiting test results.

Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe has just two patients with the virus, with neither of those patients in the critical care unit.

Across the country, there are 182 people in hospitals who have tested positive for COVID-19, as of 8pm yesterday.
