COVID-19: Galway hospitals treating 19 patients

There are 19 hospital patients in Galway being treated for COVID-19 according to the latest figures, of whom six are in Intensive Care.

As of 8pm on Sunday there were 12 confirmed cases at University Hospital Galway, and another seven at Portiuncula in Ballinasloe.

There are a further three suspected cases at University Hospital Galway for whom test results are being awaited.

Five COVID-19 patients at UHG were in Intensive Care as of Sunday evening, as is one of the patients in Ballinalsoe.

Nationwide there were 537 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals the HSE states, of whom 132 were in Intensive Care.

There were three deaths related to COVID-19 among ICU patients in the 24 hours prior to 8am on Sunday, and 94 patients were on ventilators.

Yesterday there were 33 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Galway, out of 612 in the state.
