Galway Daily news 25 percent drop in COVID cases in Galway hospitals

The Department of Health has reported 646 new cases of COVID-19 in the Republic and ten further deaths related to the disease.

A total of 35 new cases are in Galway, where the latest data shows that the 14-day incidence rate here is now 123.2 cases per 100,000 people.

The age range of the deaths reported today is 41 to 83 years while 74% of the new cases are under 45 years of age.

There are 344 COVID-19 patients in hospital according to the latest figures, with 87 people with COVID in ICU.

As of March 9th, 553,161 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the Republic, of which 396,089 people have received their first dose and 157,072 people have received their second dose.
