Galway is continuing to drove down the number of people being treated for COVID-19, with just three patients in hospital today.

The latest figures from the HSE show that there are just three confirmed cases at UHG as of 8pm on Wednesday, and none at Portiuncula.

There are also four suspected COVID-19 cases at University Hospital Galway.

The Intensive Care Units at both of Galway’s acute hospitals also remain empty of confirmed cases, though one suspected case is in the ICU at UHG.

Nationwide there are 253 people hospitalised with COVID-19 as of Wednesday night, of whom 36 are in Intensive Care, and 22 are on ventilators.

In Galway there were less than five new case reported yesterday, and the 14-day incidence rate here has fallen to 62 cases per 100,000 population.
