The Middle Arch area of Galway City down by the Claddagh and Spanish Arch has been closed by the city council this weekend.
At the request of An Garda Síochána, the Middle Arch has been closed from Friday until Tuesday, September 7.
This area has been shut multiple times over the course of the pandemic due to concerns about large numbers of young people meeting there.
Large crowds have raised issues about social distancing and potentially spreading the virus.
Friday saw the release of the Leaving Certificate results, with an unprecedented number of students having top grades to celebrate this year.
Next Tuesday will also see the issuing of Round 1 CAO offers, with prospective college students finding out if they got the place they wanted.
