Burst mains cause water outages in the west of the city

A burst water main is causing water outages to neighbourhoods in the west of Galway city this afternoon.

Irish Water have said that repairs are being made to a burst main causing outages in Portacarron, the Ballymoneen road, Knocknacarra and surrounding areas in Galway city.

Repairs are underway and are expected to be completed sometime this afternoon.

Affected homes and businesses are advised it may take 2 – 3 hours after work finishes before the full supply is restored.
