Update: M6 reopened but down to one lane.
- Both sides open but restrictions are in place eastbound.
The M6 is closed both ways between J16 Loughrea and J17 Athenry due to a gorse fire.
Motorists are being urged to use an alternative route.
There is also a vehicle on fire on the M6 Eastbound at J18 Rathmorrissey.
