Galway Daily news New timetable adds stops on Galway train services

Trains travelling between Galway and Dublin will experience significant delays this Bank Holiday weekend due to line works taking place.

Engineering works taking place on the Galway-Heuston line between Galway and Athenry, as well as Sallins and Kildare, will cause delays to trains over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Work on the line will take place on Saturday and Sunday October 26 – 27, disrupting rail travel.

Bus transfers will be in operation between Galway and Athenry and Sallins and Kildare for passengers travelling in both directions.

Buses will leave Galway ahead of the scheduled departure time to make up for the slower travel, and trains leaving Athenry are expected to depart at approximately the regular time.

Trains leaving Heuston will depart earlier than regularly scheduled in anticipation of delays.

Passengers travelling by rail this weekend are advised to used Irish Rail’s Journey Planner for their trips to minimise issues.
