80 year old woman tragically killed in traffic collision near Loughrea

An 80 year old woman was killed in a road traffic collision near Loughrea on Thursday.

The two car traffic collision happened on the R446 at Kilrickle near Loughrea at approximately 9am on Thursday.

The woman who lost her life was brought by ambulance to Portiuncula University Hospital, where she passed away shortly afterwards.

It’s understood that she was a passenger in one of the cars involved in the collision.

The other people involved in the crash were also brought to hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.

Gardaí are asking for anyone who may have information to contact them.
