Galway’s homegrown youth orchestra Symphonic Waves is looking to expand its roster with the best young musicians in the west.

The orchestra is calling young, enthusiastic wind, brass, or percussion players from Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Clare or Limerick to get tuned in and get involved.

Symphonic Waves is a West of Ireland Youth Orchestra which was set up in 2017 as part of Galway 2020 in collaboration with Music Generation Galway County.

In December an open call was put out for young musicians who wanted to help take this exciting initiative to the next level.

The next audition with conductor James Cavanaugh will take place on February 17 in Claregalway.

They are  looking for players of the following Instruments:

Brass – French horn, trumpet, trombone, and tuba
Woodwind – Flute, oboe, clarinet and Bassoon
Percussion – Timpani and general percussion.
