Two women are due to appear before Galway District Court this morning in connection with a stabbing in Limerick at the weekend.

A man was found with serious injuries at on a footpath on Cosgrave Park, Moyross, Limerick on Sunday morning.

The man was believed to have been stabbed on the Monabraher Road, Ballynanty betweem 3am and 4am on Sunday morning.

Two women, both in their 30s,  were arrested in connection with this stabbing incident, and have since been charged.

They are now due to appear before the sitting of Galway District Court today.

The man was taken to Umiversity Hospital Limerick with serious injuries, but his condition was understood to be stable.
