Mothercare Ireland opening 6,000sq ft flagship Galway store

Mothercare Ireland is doubling down on its operations in Galway with the opening of a new flagship store this week.

The 6,000sq ft Mothercare World Store at Wellpark Retail park is opening this Friday, June 21 with a massive baby and nursery sale.

The new store at Wellpark Retail park is a move to a larger premises from the existing 2,500sq ft premises at Eyre Square Shopping Centre.

To mark the move a sale exclusive to the Galway store will see cuts of up to 50% off across nursery, home, travel and feeding as well as maternity, baby, toddler and children’s clothes this Friday..

There will also be surprise giveaways with multiple vouchers worth €100 or €50 up for grabs, as well as a Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus car seat, Mothercare Nanu Strollers and Haaka Breast Pumps.

On top of those, the first 50 customers in store will receive free goodie bags.

According to Mothercare, on top of the full range of home, travel and nursery departments, at the new store “A personal shopping service will assist new parents at the very start of their journey”.

In addition “Dedicated stations around the store will make product demonstrations easier than ever so they can try before they buy”.

The flagship new store in Galway for Mothercare Ireland comes as the UK business has been suffering losses that have seen the number of stores cut almost in half.

However Mothercare Ireland is a completely separately owned entity and is not affected by the downturn in UK business.
