A Status Yellow weather warning which was issued for Galway and much of the west of Ireland yesterday has been lifted by Met Eireann.
The Status Yellow wind warning was due to be in force from 10pm tonight until 8am on Sunday morning, with winds gusting up to 110km/hr forecast.
It would have covered all of Connacht, as well as counties Clare and Donegal.
However, as of this morning that warning has been removed by Met Eireann.
Instead a non-colour coded Weather Advisory has been issued at 9am this morning for all of Ireland by the national forecaster.
“Unseasonably windy on Saturday night and Sunday, with strong and gusty westerly winds at times,” the advisory states.
This will be in force from 9pm tonight until 8pm on Sunday evening.
A weather warning for heavy winds from the UK Met Office remains in place for counties Antrim and Derry tonight.
Rough conditions are still expected on coastal waters in the west today, with a status yellow Gale Warning predicting southwest winds veering westerly which will reach gale force 8 and gusty later today
