Galway daily weather Met Eireann weather warning in force for Galway today

A Met Éireann warning for unseasonably strong winds on Saturday is now in effect in Galway.

The status yellow warning, affecting just Galway and Mayo, will last throughout Saturday afternoon until 9pm.

It follows another warning issued yesterday for the county, for heavy rain and localised flooding.

Flood Street in Galway City reopened on Friday afternoon after heavy rainfall caused flooding.

The area around Flood Street and the Spanish Arch were the subject of flash flooding that saw motorists advised to avoid the area if at all possible.
