Warning of hazardous driving conditions as Met Eireann issues Snow & Ice warning

Motorists are being advised to use caution tomorrow, as Met Eireann has issued a Snow and Ice warning for all of Ireland on Thursday.

Met Eireann has said that rain, sleet and snow will spread northwards across the country on Wednesday night and into Thursday.

“Accumulations of snow are expected in many areas along with icy conditions,” the weather warning states.

“Sleet and snow will likely transition to rain in southern areas for a time.”

These are likely to lead to hazardous driving conditions, travel disruption, and poor visibility Met Eireann has said.

This Status Yellow Snow and Ice weather warning will be in effect from 3am until 11pm on Thursday.

Hazardous driving conditions are expected to persist into Thursday night and Friday morning, as another Low Temperature warning has been issued for all of Ireland.

This Status Yellow warning will be in effect from 9pm Thursday until 10am Thursday, with widespread icy stretches cautioned.
