Met Eireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Galway on Sunday.
Southwest winds will reach average wind speeds of 55 to 60 km/h, with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h in exposed coastal areas.
The status yellow warning has been issued for counties Galway and Mayo.
Met Eireann have said that it will remain in place until 7pm on Sunday.
A status yellow gale warning is also in place for for boats forecasting gale force southerly winds from Mizen head to Slyne Head to Malin Head.
A warning for small craft also remains in place along the south and west coasts from Malin Head to Wicklow Head to Mizen Head with force 7 southwesterly winds predicted.
