The status yellow weather warning for Galway has been extended until 9pm this evening, with heavy rain expected in many parts of the county.
Met Éireann says that there could be heavy, potentially thundery downpours breaking out this afternoon and evening, leading to some localised flooding.
The warning affects Galway and 21 other counties in the Republic.
Tomorrow, Friday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.
But there will be some sunshine this weekend and into next week, Met Éireann says.
