Galway daily weather Two weather warnings in place for Galway this morning

A status yellow weather warning for low temperatures has been issued for Galway this afternoon, coming into effect on Thursday night.

The warning will begin at 10pm on Thursday, remaining in place overnight until 10am on Friday morning.

Met Éireann has warned of hazardous conditions, with a sharp to severe frost with icy surfaces.

Temperatures are set to fall to -4 degrees in many parts of the country as the cold snap continues.

But plenty of sunny and dry weather is also forecast for Galway this week and into the weekend.

Most of Co Galway is likely to escape the snow that is expected across Ulster and other parts of the country.

It will remain very cold, however, with sub-zero temperatures forecast for at least the next week.
