Girls under 9 winners - Connaught Track & Field

Hard luck to our under 14 Boys who lost out in the Shield semi-final to a very fast and strong CP Ajax team on a score of 4-1. Eugenio Netto scored our goal from the penalty spot.

Our under 7 boys played their first League match on Sunday against Dunmore. There were some great skills shown against strong Dunmore teams.

Congratulations to our under 12 girls who had a super win against Ballaghadereen on a goal feast scoreline of 4-6. All six Glen Celtic goals were scored by Courtney Parsons.  Well done to our U10 girls who played Roscommon. The girls had a superb team performance from start to finish.

TUAM AC JUVENILES 

Day one of the Connaught outdoor track and field finals took place on Sunday (10th June) in Claremorris for the under 13 athletes from the club. Congratulations to everyone who competed and to their coaches for all their hard work over the past few weeks.

The National finals take place in Tullamore commencing on Sunday 1st July.  The first three teams (paired events) for each event for the U9/10/11 including the U9/10/11 relays and the first four individuals in all events (except the 600m where the first three will progress) will go forward to the National finals in Tullamore.

There was huge success for the club in the relay competitions which kick-started the Connaught Finals on Saturday.

Roan Heslin finished 4th in the U13 boys 80m securing him a place at the national finals while Cian Rafferty finished in 3rd position in the boys 60m hurdles. Aine Maguire and Myah Gallagher qualified in the girls U12 600m finishing in first and third place respectively.

Aine also won the bronze medal in the girls U12 high jump. Oisin Phelan also qualified in the boys U13 600m finishing in 3rd position in his race. Danielle Moynihan took the gold medal in the girls U12 high jump and in the girls 60m event.

Odhran Kelly added to his medal collection by finishing in 2nd position in the boys U9 60m sprint and turbo javelin events.

Day two of the Connaught finals will take place next Saturday for U14’s and above. We wish all those taking part an enjoyable and successful day.

The Athletics Ireland Summer camp is returning to Tuam for a third year in a row. The camp is on in Tuam from 30th July to the 3rd August. Details of registration may be found on the Tuam AC Juveniles Facebook page. Places are filling up quickly so members are advised to book early.

 

KILKERRIN UNITED 

U11 boys put in an excellent performance on Friday evening against Skyvalley Rovers in Kilkerrin.

All players acquitted themselves well from the rock solid Eoin Morrissey in goal, the dependable Daithi Naughton & Diarmuid Cummins in defence, the hardworking midfielders Niall Fahey, Rian Hargadon, Shay Collins & Kevin Freeman and goalscorers on the evening Eoin Thornton, Sam Nolan & Tiernan Kilmartin. Well done all.

U12 boys had a good 6-4 win over Ballaghaderreen FC on Tuesday thanks to goals from Conal Divilly (2), Cillian Brennan, Joe Mullin, Dara Fahy & Daniel Stephens.

Last week’s RDFL lotto numbers were 5, 18, 21 & 26.

There was no jackpot winner. 6 match three winners: Cam Celtic; Ballaghaderreen FC; Rory Gallagher, c/o Cloonfad United; John Heneghan, c/o Cloonfad United; Paraic Gilligan, c/o Kilkerrin United; Pete Murray, c/o Kilkerrin United. Next week’s draw is for a jackpot of €13,650.
