50 local sports clubs allocated funding under Sports Club Grants Scheme

Galway daily sport Moycullen GAA cancels all activities in response to COVID-19 cases

Galway City Council has announced this year’s allocation of funding under the Sports Club Grants Scheme, with 50 local clubs allocated funding.

Thirteen clubs were allocated the maximum grant amount of €3,500 and another 18 clubs will receive over €2,800.

A total of €130,000 will be made available to a wide range of sports from mainstream to minority sports, and the funding will go towards the costs of equipment, coaching, travel and up-skilling volunteers.

This grant scheme assists the good work being delivered on the ground by the many dedicated volunteers across all sports.
