Galway Daily weather Storm Barra: Galway recorded second strongest winds in Ireland

A status yellow weather warning has been issued for Galway ahead of strong winds this evening and tonight.

The warning was issued this afternoon and will come into effect at 4.00pm today (Saturday). It will remain in place until 1am tonight.

Met Éireann issued the status yellow wind warning for Galway, Donegal and Mayo.

The weather chiefs say it will become “very windy this evening and for a time tonight with south to southwest winds reaching mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h, gusting up to 100km/h, strongest in coastal areas.”

Another weather warning for rain has been issued for Donegal for this evening and tonight, but this has not been extended to Galway.
