Galway daily news Water outages in multiple areas of Galway due to burst mains

Residents of Galway city and Furbogh are both going without water this afternoon due to burst mains.

A burst water main on the Knocknacarra road is causing water outages in multiple neghbourhoods on the east side of Galway city.

Irish water have said that residents in the area of the Knocknacarra Road, Kingston Road, Shangort Road, Lower Clybaun Road, and Barna Road may see water supply disruptions while repairs are being carried out.

A second burst water main has been reported in the Furbogh area east of the city this afternoon.

It is causing water outages to people living in the area of Cnoc na Gréine and Furbogh.

Repairs are being carried out and have an estimated completion time of 6pm this evening.

In both instances people living in the area should expect that it may take 2-3 hours for full water supply to return after repairs are completed.
