Vandalism causes massive delays for Galway-Dublin trains

Trains travelling between Galway and Dublin today have been experiencing massive delays to due vandalism.

All trains in and out of Heuston Station were experiencing delays of around 45 minutes this morning due to overnight vandalism of signalling lights at Newbridge.

They have now been repaired but because of the backlog of traffic which built up all services into Dublin are still facing delays of up to 90 minutes.

These delays are expected to ease throughout the morning as services get back to normal Irish Rail has said.
