Rail travel between Galway and Dublin will be significantly disrupted by bus transfers due to engineering works this weekend.
Irish Rail is carrying out line improvement works between Portarlington and Tullamore this Saturday and Sunday, November 12 – 13.
This will result in a service alterations over the weekend, the bulk of which will be bus transfers between Portarlington and Tullamore.
Irish Rail has given notice that the following services will be affected:
Saturday, November 12
- 07:30 Athlone to Galway will operate as normal
- 07:35 Heuston to Galway will operate to Portarlington only, bus transfers from Portarlington to Tullamore, second train departing at 09:10 from Tullamore to Galway which will not serve Woodlawn
- 09:25 Heuston to Galway will operate to Portarlington only, bus transfers from Portarlington to Tullamore, second train departing at 11:05 from Tullamore to Galway
- 11:25 Heuston to Galway will operate to Portarlington only, bus transfers from Portarlington to Tullamore, second train departing at 13:00 from Tullamore to Galway
- 13:25 Heuston to Galway will operate to Portarlington only, bus transfers from Portarlington to Tullamore, second train departing at 15:00 from Tullamore to Galway
