A weather warning for heavy rain with a risk of thunderstorms is in effect for Galway and all of Ireland today.
Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain and thunderstorm warning which will be in place until 9pm tonight.
“Widespread heavy showers or longer spells of rain, with thunderstorms bringing some lightning and hail.”
Possible impacts today include localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions, with some lighting damage and impacts on outdoor events.
