Three people in hospital after serious crash near Spiddal

Three people are in a serious condition at University Hospital Galway following a collision on the R336 near Spiddal last night.

Two cars were involved in a collision just before 9pm last night.

The two vehicle crash took place at Park East, near the junction with Páirc Láir.

One of the cars had a passenger in it, and its understood that all three are in a serious condition at UHG.

It’s believed that the three people involved in the crash are locals.

The road was closed overnight as Gardaí waited until it was light enough to carry out a technical examination.

Gardaí have since re-opened the road to traffic.
