Weather warning for ice in Galway tonight

Temperatures will plummet to below zero on Friday night, with Met Éireann issuing a weather warning for all of Ireland, cautioning of ice and dangerous conditions.

The status yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning for all of Ireland will be in place from 9pm on Friday until 10am Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to fall to between -1 and -3 degrees overnight, with sharp frost and icy conditions as a result.

This freeze will create hazardous travel conditions for drivers and pedestrians, with travel disruptions expected.

In Galway, conditions are expected to remain wet throughout Thursday, but the rain will start clearing up early Friday morning.

Friday will be dry and bright for the most part, with highest temperatures of 7 degrees in the day before dropping sharply as we head into the evening.
