Galway Daily news Drive In cinema returning for Christmas

Retro-Drive In is making its second appearance in Galway this season with some old school Christmas hits after a sold out Halloween experience.

Last month iRadio and Retro Drive-In movies brought that old school movie experience to Galway for the first time with a Harry Potter marathon and horror classics.

If The Exorcist wasn’t your style then maybe you’ll prefer to come see a Christmas movie at Ballybrit Racecourse, where there promises to be nothing more frightening that Kevin McCallister’s Home Alone murder dungeons.

Up to 250 carloads of people at a time will get to relive their childhood holiday seasons on the world’s largest mobile LED screen.

Saturday, December 1:

  • 3pm            – Home Alone
  • 6:30pm      – Elf
  • 9:30pm      – Home Alone 2

Sunday, December 2:

  • 2pm            – Santa Claus The Movie
  • 5:30pm      – The Polar Express
  • 9pm            – Love Actually

Tickets are bought by the car and cost €30 for a vehicle that seats five, or €32 for a seven seater.

An earlier showing of Elf on Friday, November 30 has already sold out, so get your tickets fast while they’re there.
