Repairs are continuing this morning on a major burst water main which is causing outages in multiple neighbourhoods in Athenry.
The burst main on the Tuam Road, Athenry was reported on Thursday, but the
Properties in the following areas may be impacted by disruption to their supply while the repairs are underway; Lambert Court, Dún Rí, Cullairbaun, Parklands, Árd Esker, Cáislean Rí, Garraí Glas, Tuam Road, Athenry and surrounding areas.
The repair works are expected to be completed during Friday morning, but it may take 1 – 2 hours after this before full water supply is restored to affected premises.
A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the repair works.
“Irish Water is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.”
“Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing,” a statement from the utility provider said.
