Planning permission is being sought for the construction of a residential development of 16 homes in Gort.
The application by RHOC Gort is for the construction of 4 three-bed, terraced houses, 5 two-bed, terraced houses, 6 three-bed, semi-detached houses, and 1 one-bed apartment.
The estate would be built on a 0.68ha site on the Ennis Road at Rindifin, Gort on the south side of the town.
Access to the site would be via a new entrance onto the Ennis Road, with communal open space also located by the roadside.
The planning statement submitted with this application states that the plans omit a section of Industrial zoned land, which had been one of the reasons cited in the rejection of previous housing plans submitted for this location.
A decision on this planning application is due from Galway County Council by November 15.
