Ornamore Maree GAA Club raised €25,000 for the lifesaving local charity COPE Galway with its Win a Home draw in recent weeks.
The Win a Home in Galway City fundraising organised by Oranmore Maree GAA One Club was held on August 31, 2026.
The draw raised €1.5 million for the club, and saw one luck person win a €330,000 apartment in Woodquay.
The GAA club pledged €25,000 to COPE Galway as part of the competition, which was presented in late September.
“We were delighted to receive a very generous donation of €25,000 from Oranmore/Maree GAA Club, from the proceeds of their very successful Win A Home Galway City fundraising campaign,” a statement from the club said.
“We are incredibly grateful to Oranmore Maree GAA and everyone who supported the campaign and helped make this donation possible. This wonderful contribution will make a real difference to people and families across the Galway community.”
“The funds will support our work with people experiencing homelessness, women and children subjected to domestic abuse, and in supporting older people to live with dignity, independence and connection in their communities.”
