A new Tesco Express has opened its doors to a brand new 3,000 square foot store in the Galway city suburb of Doughiska today.

The newly refurbished store will employ 16 people and will be managed by Kelvin Farragher who has been with Tesco for more than a decade.

Kelvin Farragher welcomed the first customers into the new Tesco Express this morning.

He said that the team has put in a lot of work to ensure that the customer experience is of the highest standard.

“We are all really looking forward to getting to know the local community here in Doughiska.”

The Tesco Express will stock produce from several local Galway suppliers including Soho Bakehouse, Kevin Hughes Potatoes and Corrib Eggs.

Geoff Byrne, Chief Operating Officer, Tesco Ireland said he is delighted to be in Doughiska today to see the doors open on our latest store.

“We welcome Doughiska to our store network and look forward to playing a big part in the local community for many years to come.”
