Burst pipes are causing water outages in multiple areas of Galway today, with Irish Water reporting supply disruptions in Spiddal and east of Oranmore in Derrydonnell.
Water outages were first reported in the Spiddal area just after 11am this morning and are affecting the village of Spiddal, Furbo, and surrounding areas.
A traffic management plan is in place while repairs are being carried out, which Irish Water have said should be completed shortly.
Another burst main was reported in the last hour in the Derrydonnell area which is causing water outages to Derrydonnell, Mountain West, Palmerstown, Lisheenkyle, Caherfinisker and surrounding areas.
Repair crews are working on the issue but no estimated time of completion has been given for repair works yet.
In both instances, people in the affected areas are advised that it may take 2 – 3 hours for the full water supply to return after repairs are completed.
Further updates on the situation will be available through Irish Water’s Supply and Service page, or people affected can call 1850 278278.
