More than 2,200 homes in east Galway without electricity

There are currently more than 2,200 homes and businesses in different parts of East Galway which are without electricity this afternoon.

The separate faults in the Glenamaddy are are causing power outages to a combined 1,496 homes and business, which the ESB is currently estimating will be repaired by 5pm this evening.

Another fault in the Ballygar area, which earlier today was affecting the electricity to just under 500 homes, is now causing power outages to 782 premises.

The estimated time for repairs to be completed here given by the ESB is now 6:30pm in Thursday.

The ESB has been dealing with faults in East Galway and Roscommon throughout today, which peaked in the morning when more than 15,000 properties were affected.
