Met Éireann has issued a 7-day status yellow warning for blight in Galway and across the country.
The forecasters say that conditions conducive to the spread of potato blight will develop in many parts of the country from Monday.
They said that there will be opportunities for spraying over the weekend.
The warning was issued at 3.05pm this afternoon, Thursday, and it will remain in place until next Wednesday, 18 May at 1pm.
