A man in his 30s has been arrested this morning on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a woman’s body in Sligo.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate all circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body on Monday, 1 May.
The woman (50s) was discovered at a residence in Sligo town shortly after 8.30pm on the Bank Holiday Monday.
A post-mortem was conducted, the results of which are not being disclosed for operational reasons.
The man is currently in detention at a Garda station in the North Western Region under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
