COPE Galway has announced that the 2022 Business Leaders’ Sleep Out has so far raised over €200,600 for their Homeless Service, with further donations still expected over the coming weeks.

Thirty-nine local business leaders took on the challenge to sleep out over 12 hours on Shop Street on a cold night in early December to raise vital funds for the charity.

Sharon Fitzpatrick, COPE Galway’s Head of Development, said they are “so grateful to the business community and their supporters for raising these vital funds for our Homeless Service at a time when more and more people are becoming homeless, and the need for our service is growing rapidly.”

The funds raised will allow COPE Galway to continue to develop and expand innovative services to support children, women and men while they remain in temporary or transitionary accommodation for extended periods of time over the year ahead.
