Tomorrow’s strike action by medical scientists has been suspended after negotiating parties agreed to attend the Labour Court tomorrow, Wednesday.

The Medical Laboratory Scientists Association (MLSA) took industrial action today and last Thursday over issues such as pay disparity and career development issues.

The strike action caused disruption in hospitals across the country, with a number of procedures being cancelled.

The HSE has said that hospitals will try to resume appointments and procedures as quickly as possible tomorrow, it is inevitable that some appointments will be cancelled.

Hospitals will contact patients directly to advise them on any updates or changes to arrangements for tomorrow, the HSE said.

Routine GP testing and testing services for patients already in hospital will also resume tomorrow.
