More than 50 people on trolleys at UHG today

UHG is the second most overcrowded hospital in Ireland again today, with more than 50 patients waiting on trolleys.

There were 48 people on trolleys at the University Hospital Galway emergency department as of this morning, and another three in the wards.

Portiuncula Hospital is also experiencing bad overcrowding today according to INMO Trolley/Ward Watch figures.

At the Ballinasloe hospital there are 11 patients in the ED without a bed, and another six in the wards.

There are a total of 485 patients in Ireland’s public hospitals going without a bed today according to the INMO.

The worst affected hospital in the country is UH Limerick (59), followed by UHG (51), and Cork UH (48).
