Gardaí are investigating a suspected arson attack which led to a fire at a property in Loughrea yesterday morning, Wednesday, 9 February.

At around 5.50am, Gardaí received reports of a fire at a residence in Tullagh Hill area of Loughrea. No injuries were reported, but the front of the residence was severely damaged.

No arrests have been made at this stage of this ongoing investigation but Gardaí in Loughrea are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Gardaí are also appealing to any persons travelling in the Tullagh Hill or Old Galway Road area of Loughrea between 5am and 6am who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make this footage available to them, or to anyone travelling in these areas who observed any activity which drew their attention, to make contact with Gardaí.
