Gardaí seized €20,000 worth of suspected cannabis and arrested one person after searching a vehicle near Loughrea yesterday.
Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit stopped and searched a car in the Bookeen North area of Loughrea shortly before 8pm on Wednesday.
During the course of the search approximately €20,000 of suspected cannabis herb was located in the boot of the car.
A woman in her mid-20s was arrested and detained at the North Western Regional Garda Headquarters in Galway under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
She was later released without charge, and a file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
